2024 aluminum alloy is developed in the direction of high strengthening to meet the concept of lighter, more reliable, and more energy-efficient aircraft design.

Among the 8 aluminum alloys in 2024, except for 2024A invented by France in 1996 and 2224A invented by Russia in 1997, all others were developed by the ALCOA.

The silicon content of 2524 alloy is only 0.06%, and the impurity iron content also decreases correspondingly, but the decrease is smaller.
